Each year, as part of Volunteers Week, RCPCH &Us recognise and celebrate the achievements of projects through four awards. The four awards; Educate, Collaborate, Engage and Change reflect the ethos and values of the College.

The 2026 award winners were announced at the annual Volunteers Awards & Celebration night at the start of June. We were thrilled to be joined by two of the judging panel, College President Professor Steve Turner and CEO Ian Parrett. Assistant Registrar Dr Bhanu Williams was unable to attend and sent her apologies. Attendees showed up in a range of headwear, from hats, to wigs, to novelty neck cushions! There was also a scavenger hunt, and a sneak peak at pictures from Conference.

The 2026 Volunteer Awards winners are:

Educate Award:

This year’s winners were The Voice of the Nation Project, which saw 9 RCPCH &Us volunteers analyse results from 3,000 children and young people on what matters to them in health services, turning their findings into an easy to digest leaflet to share with others.

The first Digital Paediatrics Conference was highly commended for breaking new ground.

Collaborate Award:

Asthma &Me Ambassadors, a group of asthma experienced or interested children, young people and families who volunteer together to improve care for asthma patients and their families won the Collaborate Award.

The Epilepsy12 Youth Advocates were highly commended for their work supporting the Epilepsy12 National Audit.

Engage Award:

The winners of the 2026 Engage Award were The Youth Narrative, a group of young people passionate about sharing health messages in a variety of ways, including writing articles in the College magazine Milestones, contributing to reports and research papers, blogging and podcasting, and overseeing the artwork in the College building.

Health Inequalities (Climate Change), and The Parents in Neonatal Healthcare projects were both highly commended. The Health Inequalities (Climate Change) project group have focused on Sustainable Medicines, and took part in joint workshop with the Climate Change Member Reference group at Conference 2026.

The Parents in Neonatal Healthcare project have been hearing from parents about what outstanding neonatal healthcare is and identifying areas to strengthen.

Change Award:

This year’s Change Award winner is the Engagement Standards Project. 13 RCPCH &Us Volunteers took part in a design day in August 2025 to review the Engagement Standards before their launch in November 2025.

The Engagement Committee were highly commended, for their collaborative work shaping engagement tools.

A big congratulations to all the winners and those nominated!
