Volunteer Awards winners 2025

As part of national Volunteers’ Week, each year RCPCH &Us celebrate and recognise group projects through four Awards reflecting our ethos and values: The Educate, Collaborate, Engage and Change Awards.

We were excited to announce this year’s winners at our online Celebration Evening at the beginning of June, and delighted to welcome the entire panel of judges to the evening comprising Banu Williams College Assistant Registrar, College President Steve Turner, and Rob Okunnu the College CEO. With this year’s theme of ‘dress as a star’ staff and volunteers attended in a variety of head gear (one panel member attended in full vampire attire!) and took part in a 10th birthday quiz before the award winners were announced.

This year’s winners:

Educate Award:

This year’s winners were the Change NHS Project, which galvanised more than 2,600 young voices to share their thoughts on the future of the NHS in England and Wales.

The Epilepsy12 Youth Advocates were Highly Commended for their work delivering presentations at the E12 OPEN UK Conference, and developing a Legacy Award.

Collaborate Award:

This year’s winners were the Experts by Experience on the Epilepsy Programme Board, a group of children and young people, parents and carers who share their insight and thoughts on epilepsy care on a UK-wide committee. 

The Engagement Standards Working Group were Highly Commended by the panel for their work on bringing together a set of standards supporting doctors and other healthcare professionals to better engage children and young people in their services.

Engage Award:

This year’s winners were the Annual Conference group, who travelled to Glasgow to deliver an all singing, all dancing exhibition stand and numerous presentations on stage.

The Climate Changers were Highly Commended for their work on the Clean Air project, in particular their toolkit creations for the Air Pollution Companion,  supporting paediatricians to begin all important conversations about clean air with children and young people. 

Change Award:

This year’s winners were The General Election Project, a group of children and young people who produced their own manifesto on child health priorities in the run up to the General Election in England.

Staff Interviews were Highly Commended in this category – with young people involved in interviewing new staff as part of a panel at the College.
